Editorial policy
Two rules do most of the work: name the source of a figure, and leave a gap rather than fill it.
Everything factual here comes from our own product descriptions, as they stood on 24 August 2026. Hours hot and hours cold are the figures we publish for each piece, not results from a rig.
Where a product page states nothing, this site states nothing. That is why some rows in the hours table are empty and why several pieces carry a lid verdict that reads “not stated” rather than borrowing a claim from a similar piece. An empty cell is information. A filled-in guess is not.
Where two descriptions for the same piece disagree, and one pair does, we publish the more modest of the two claims and the build prints the disagreement so it cannot be quietly forgotten.
Ratings and rating counts are shown as text with the date we read them, and they are never placed in the page's structured data. Putting somebody else's review score into our own markup is a misrepresentation search engines act on, and the number is more useful next to the price anyway.
We do not compare this range to premium brands by name, and we keep expedition or military language out of copy about drinkware meant for a desk and a car.
